Recognizing and tackling inspection challenges is important to Aramco Overseas and one of the ways we embrace best practice is by learning from others. We look for common approaches and technologies that can improve the reliability and integrity of our parent company’s operating plants.
Our Quality Management division showed this by hosting the 2014 Inspection Technology Forum at our headquarters in the Hague.
Six leading inspection technology providers were invited to share the latest developments in their respective fields of expertise. The Aramco Overseas Quality Management team at the forum was complemented by a member of the Inspection Technology Unit at Saudi Aramco.
Subjects covered included:
- inspection of stainless steel for cracking
- inspection of composite pipe
- risk assessment
Part of the event saw a field trip to Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport where attendees got to see first-hand the work of Aircraft Fuel Supply, the company responsible for the fuel hydrant system at that facility.
