For the attention of all Aramco suppliers
False emails alert
We would like to take this opportunity to alert you to a growing IT security threat: "phishing" emails.
Phishing can be defined as an attempt to acquire sensitive information and sometimes money by the sender masquerading as a trustworthy entity including in some cases falsely claiming to represent Aramco.
The objective of this alert is to provide you with advice to ensure that you do not become a victim of these fraudulent emails.
Phishing emails can be identified by the following:
- An unknown sender or an obscure email address
- Emails that include web links that may appear similar to a legitimate website
- Emails that do not address you by name, or contain content unrelated to your job function
We ask that you be vigilant and that, if you are the recipient of a suspicious email, or other type of communication, which you suspect is someone trying to fraudulently impersonate Aramco or an Aramco member of staff, you immediately check with your contact at Aramco who can help verify the legitimacy of any such suspicious communication.
If you are in any doubt about the legitimacy of any communication, we kindly request you notify our security team by forwarding the suspicious communication to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support,
