As a part of a global initiative to develop transportation fuel R&D expertise, Aramco Fuel Research Center is expanding its Paris based team and has an immediate opening for a senior Life Cycle Assessment Specialist. This opportunity is for an experienced engineer with extensive, multi-disciplinary knowledge to join our team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop in-house Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) models for the passenger and commercial transport sectors.
Perform comparative assessments of conventional and advanced mobility technologies, which include, but not limited to: Advanced vehicle powertrain options, novel synthetic and bio-based fuels, refined petroleum fuels and others
Monitor regulatory trends on energy and transportation, and assess the implications of emerging and existing policies on the emissions of GHGs, energy use, and other environmental impacts.
Apply expertise in Transport LCA to support reputation building and thought-leadership within the industry.
Publish research findings and communicate results internally and externally, through journal publications or participations in scientific meetings/conferences.
Participate collaboratively in research projects across Aramco’s global transport research network, and proactively contribute towards shaping Aramco’s future R&D directions.
Promote professional relationships with local and international institutions and industrial partners.
Organize technical meetings and conferences on the topics related to his area of expertise.
Identify opportunities and make recommendations for continuous improvements as part of the global Saudi Aramco Research & Development team.
Mentor and oversee the development of young engineers in the candidate’s area of specialty.
MSc/PhD in a relevant engineering or science discipline from an accredited university.
5 years at least of professional experience in Life Cycle Assessment.
Deep understanding of the European legislation on pollutants regulation.
Good knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment software (GaBi, SimaPro or other).
Experience in the domain of fossil/renewable fuels, energy and transportation vehicles.
Proven record of publications and innovations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with multicultural environments.
Ability to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of French language is a plus.
