LONDON, United Kingdom – AOC UK marked an important milestone in the consolidation of its business May 24 by formally welcoming the Career Development Department (CDD) into its fold. The official opening of the CDD office in London’s iconic Centre Point building, inaugurated by Samir A. Al-Tubayyeb, executive director of Employee Relations and Training, means that all Industrial Relations activities in the UK now are housed under one roof.
“This is the moment we have been waiting for,” said Al-Tubayyeb, referring to the need to centralize fragmented services, with recruitment previously located in The Hague, and CDD operating out of the Saudi Petroleum Overseas Ltd. office. “Consolidating activities in one building is a significant move toward synergy among our worldwide offices to better serve Saudi Aramco.
“The European region is an important business market for us as a global energy company,” he said, “and we are moving decisively to expand our services here so that Saudi Aramco can benefit from a stronger international presence. This country has become an anchor for our students, a hub for sourcing potential employees, and a great platform for our Public Relations function. We are thrilled that the vision has finally become reality.”
He said the company wants managers and employees to be exposed to different activities and practices, be it recruitment, Human Resources or Public Relations “so that we can develop future talent and connect with different markets to build our enterprise.” Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, chief representative at AOC UK, underscored Saudi Aramco’s drive to recruit top talent from across the world. “It is not a matter of having central facilities alone but that the move fosters a closer relationship to strengthen our business capabilities.”
