THE HAGUE, The Netherlands — After an extended absence, the AOC Family Day, on Sept. 8, 2010, again featured on the company’s event calendar. Held on Scheveningen beach, the event was organized by the Executive Services team at AOC The Hague and brought together employees and their families for a full day of fun-filled activities and great team-building experiences.

At 1 p.m., a warm welcome was extended to all guests, along with a light buffet of sandwiches and fruit, while the perfect weather ensured a wonderful day ahead. A DJ played lounge music throughout the day, while a traditional Arabic tent, with Arabic coffee and sweets, was also present. With 180 attendees, many of them children, the activities were divided into two types, with the adults participating in games of volleyball, kiting, archery and various team events, while the children made cupcakes and jewelry, or painted personal mugs and t-shirts.

In addition, an animation program ran all day, and, with the added treats of sweets and a clown, the children were guaranteed a day they’d never forget.
An AOC employee noted: “My wife and kids enjoyed the event very much, and as soon as we got home, my son said: ‘Thanks dad for taking us to the beach party. I had fun!’ As I type this, I can hear my colleagues in the room say how much fun they had as well.”

With the children entertained, the employees were able to focus on their own fun until the buffet dinner in the evening. The evening’s highlights were surely the balloon magician who captivated the audience with imitations of Tweety, Goofy and other cartoon characters, and a table magician teaching simple magic tricks.
Executive Services staff member Claire Loep concluded that the day had been labeled a success and enjoyed by everybody. “They enjoyed the return of the family-day event where all employees and their families participated together. I can’t wait for next year’s event!”
