A direct impact on conservation of nature and biodiversity
As part of an oil and gas company, AOC is very conscious of its responsibilities to the environment. We aim to support our parent company’s commitment to sustainability through community activities focused on conservation and biodiversity.

Working with the Prince’s Trust
We are very proud of the relationship we have developed with The Prince’s Trust, in the United Kingdom. We used our central London location at Centre Point Building, to work with The Prince’s Trust on an awareness campaign about the disastrous consequences of disappearing rainforests. This incorporated a photographic competition amongst our employees. Winning photographs were printed as postcards to spread the environmental message. Over 2,500 visitors and workers at Centre Point were made aware of The Prince’s Rainforest Project through our efforts.
I never realised the extent of the damage to the rainforest and knowing that in less than 50 years there will be no rainforest encourages me to do more to conserve our environment. Robyn Sinclair, AOC Staffing Services
Tree Planting for Earth Day
AOC invited students from Forest Row Home Schooling Network to participate in a tree planting activity in support of Earth Day, intended to inspire awareness and appreciation of the earth’s environment amongst students as well as AOC employees.
This was such a great idea. The children absolutely loved it and they learned valuable lessons about preserving the environment. Zoe Baudoor, mother of a Forest Row Home Schooling Network student
The group of 16 volunteers engaged in the ancient tradition of coppicing, a natural method of sustaining woodland areas, proceeding to plant 40 trees in Ashdown Forest, to improve local air quality.
Making a difference to the dunes
As part of the Dutch national volunteer day, 35 AOC volunteers with their families and friends took to the dunes of Meijendel in Wassenaar, a town in the suburb of The Hague, to rid them of weeds. AOC’s office is a stone’s throw away from the dunes area that protects the ‘low lands’ from the sea.
This was a nice opportunity for me to contribute to the maintenance of the Meijendal area where I often spend and enjoy my free time. Katarina Fischerova, AOC Supplier Relations
Each volunteer was armed with a shovel to get rid of the American Black Cherry shrub, considered a forest pest as it can prevent rejuvenation of native plant and tree species. We worked with Dunea on the project, the organization with responsibility for maintaining and protecting the dune areas surrounding The Hague to ensure clear and safe drinking water.
Water management is high on the agenda for Saudi Aramco and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which gave added meaning to this volunteer project. In addition, because the Dutch water sector is well known for its water management and treatment expertize, there are established links between the sector and our parent company, a relationship managed by the Research and Technology unit at AOC.
