The ability to purchase effectively and efficiently lies at the heart of AOC’s business. Our processes are rigorous and enable Saudi Aramco to access and obtain the materials and services it needs at the lowest overall cost, within specifications and on time.
AOC Purchasing procures materials and incidental services to support Saudi Aramco’s daily operations and ongoing capital programs.
As part of the procurement process, AOC Purchasing participates in worldwide developments for major material requirements for existing and new plants.
- We provide critical expediting support services to the company’s capital program projects, such as Manifa, Khurais, Khursaniyah and Abu Ali plants.
- We arrange for the Out-of-Kingdom repair of major equipment items and their earliest possible return to service in Saudi Arabia.
- We play a crucial role in the timely availability of materials and services for Saudi Aramco TRS (Total Refinery Shutdown) and T&I (Test & Inspection) programs and emergencies.
- We provide 24 hour a day seven days a week support to Saudi Aramco’s aircraft fleet.
- We support Saudi Aramco in all its medical and laboratory requirements available within our area of operation which includes the need for emergency (Life & Death) requirements supply.
- AOC Purchasing also supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s non-hydrocarbon projects on behalf of Saudi Aramco such as the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, for which several high value placements have been handled and delivered.
An inside story
In 2007, AOC Purchasing placed an order for 14 AW139 helicopters the last of which was delivered at the end of May, 2010.
These helicopters are being used for a range of vital missions: Search and rescue, medical, hoisting and transporting workers to and from the off shore platforms, and VIP flights. AOC assists Saudi Aramco in timely purchase and delivery of all spare parts necessary to keep these helicopters ready for operations.
Besides a great number of lower value materials, all used for our oil and gas operations in Saudi Arabia, AOC has supported Saudi Aramco in ordering and handling high value engineered items such as heat recovery steam generation units, pump and compressor trains, all variations in skids (chemical / methanol injection, etc.), vessels, heat exchangers and more.
