Information technology

AOC IT delivers leading-edge information technology solutions to support AOC’s provision and management of materials, technologies and services needed across Saudi Aramco’s global operations.

AOC IT was formed to provide computer and communications support for AOC’s business divisions, satellite offices and project management teams. These units need 24 hour access to AOC and Saudi Aramco IT resources and continuous support for the set up and maintenance of IT infrastructure.

Our strategic goal is to create value via information technology. This value can come through developing or implementing innovative IT products or services that improve operational outcomes but also support the business in becoming more efficient and cost effective. Creating business value with IT and maintaining high levels of user satisfaction require process excellence. We are responsible for ensuring process excellence across both IT operations and the applications we use and support.

The current mission of AOC IT  is to provide general IT and SAP support in the AOC area of operations and maintain a reliable and secure network environment. Our mission also includes supporting Saudi Aramco with ICT requirements in the global environment.

The primary services currently provided by AOC IT in its area of operations are:

  • IT customer support for all users and contractors.
  • Server and workstation set up, management and administration for all AOC locations.
  • Provision of telephony services.
  • Establishing ICT infrastructure and connectivity for Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams.
  • SAP application support.
  • Network management of the AOC network.
  • Domestic purchases for AOC and Saudi Aramco Project Management Teams of ICT related hardware and software.
  • Support for Saudi Aramco ICT in various areas, on request.
  • Participating with Saudi Aramco and ASC (our sister affiliate in Houston, USA) IT organizations in the operation and maintenance of the corporate worldwide network.

An inside story

As part of a pilot project, telepresence systems were installed by Saudi Aramco (in Dhahran) and AOC IT (in The Hague). The system is connected to the existing AOC video conferencing infrastructure and gives teams the ability to conduct virtual life-size meetings delivered through ultra-high resolution and real-time video and supported by an optimized environment.
